Description:
The D-CLEAN project focuses on improving water quality in the Danube River Basin by introducing nature-based, sustainable solutions for the management of municipal wastewater and stormwater in smaller settlements. Through a combination of awareness-raising, training, pilot projects, and cross-border cooperation, the project strengthens resilience to climate change, supports local communities in implementing decentralized systems, and contributes to the implementation of European water policy.
Main Goals:
The project aims to reduce pollution in the Danube River Basin by introducing nature-based, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solutions for the treatment of wastewater and stormwater. In addition, it strengthens the capacities of local stakeholders in planning such systems and supports the implementation of European water legislation.
